Amputation Injury
Georgia is the only state ever to elect a triple amputee to the United States Senate. Former Senator Max Cleland, who also served as Georgia's Secretary of State and as Director of the U.S. Veterans Administration, has been an inspiration to amputees everywhere.
However, like many people who have experienced an amputation, Max Cleland went through a time when he was so depressed he just wanted to die. Grief is a normal reaction to amputation.
